July 2024 Changelog

Who loves data accuracy improvements? Trick question, the answer is everyone. The Ribbon team has been working hard on improving our machine learning models to better score provider locations, resulting in improved data accuracy for our customers. And in our book, that’s more exciting than fireworks, the Summer Olympics, and the new House of Dragons season combined.

Data Accuracy

In Q2, Ribbon retrained our machine learning models to better score provider locations and added new features to the model including claims counts, TINs, location type, and primary specialty. These new features increased the accuracy of the data asset as well as the coverage of high-confidence providers.

  • Lifted overall accuracy by 4%
  • Increased high-confidence providers from 1.1M to 1.5M
  • Boosted confidence “4” providers (on a scale of 1-5) by 15%

Ribbon Hub

Ribbon Hub will be available in August, including two highly requested new tools. Look out for more details next month on how to gain access.

  • Ribbon Plan Mapping: Save time by uploading members’ plans and allowing our proprietary algorithm to match the plans to Ribbon networks, effectively eliminating the manual plan mapping process.
  • Directory Viewer: A visual representation of Ribbon’s provider endpoint allows users to view, filter, and download Ribbon data without calling an API.

TINs

Ribbon is launching TINs (Tax Identification Numbers) data, enabling organizations to easily map relationships between providers, service locations, and billing entities.
