API Functionality
Released custom sorting for search results
We’ve added the ability for users to custom-sort Ribbon search results by building enhanced boost filtering functionality. Previously, users were limited to sorting by distance. Customers can now sort search results in a variety of ways, like seeing preferred providers or highest confidence locations at the top of the list.
As a result, customers can more easily steer patients to the most affordable, highest-quality care. The feature will be rolled out throughout June - if you’d like it sooner, please reach out to your Ribbon representative.
Provider Information
Expanded procedure-level cost and experience data
We’ve more than tripled the number of procedures with available cost and experience data, now covering ~3,500 billing codes.
We have also implemented several methodology improvements to increase the relevance and reliability of our procedure cost and experience scores. Significantly, we’ve added quality assurance checks so that procedure-level cost and experience scores are only surfaced for specialties that are most likely to perform the procedure.
Improved provider focus areas
We’ve improved the accuracy of our provider focus areas field, specifically for oncologists. We have built an improved data science model that more accurately assigns clinical area labels for specific cancer types. As a result, we’ve seen a 30% improvement in the accuracy of oncology cancer-type focus area designation to date.
Improved provider data hygiene
We are constantly investing in optimizing the search experience by prioritizing data clean-up. This month, we removed “non-human” specialties that were inherited from CMS taxonomy codes like “Military Hospital” or “Medical Laboratory.” With a streamlined list of specialties, teams can now find the specialty relevant to their care needs more quickly.
Insurances Accepted
